Who says that just because you have kids (of whatever age!), you have to miss out on the Ibiza vibe and the chance to party?!  Ibiza is a wonderfully family friendly island - with safe, sandy Blue-Flag beaches with shallow sea and lifeguards, to the locals who adore children, it's the perfect place to take babies, children and even teenagers.  However, even when you're travelling with your family the great news is that you can still join in with what makes Ibiza, well, Ibiza!

Congratulations to our friends at Kasbah Tamadot who have just been named as 'World's Best Small Hotel' at the recent International Hotel Awards 2012 in London.  In addition, all sorts of exciting changes and developments at the Kasbah are about to be revealed, following the month-long annual hotel closure in January, including a re-surfaced tennis court, a fabulous new outdoor Jacuzzi (with possibly one of the best views possible from an outdoor hot tub!)...as well as...drum roll.....a brand new Donkey Palace for the resident and much-love donkeys, who now live in the same height of luxury as guests of the hotel!

Despite Necker Island's much publicised fire in August 2011, the indomitable Sir Richard Branson vowed to rebuild the destroyed Great House as soon as possible - his daughter Holly even going ahead with her wedding on the island, as planned, just before Christmas.  The Great House itself will be rebuilt in due course, but the island is still very much available for exclusive hire with the six beautiful Bali Houses as well as Temple House (which is normally Sir Richard's private home)....and if you need any further bed space for your group, additional accommodation comes in the shape of the fabulous catamaran, Necker Belle, which will be .....

ABTA (the Association of British Travel Agents) has just released its annual Travel Trends Report for 2012 and has predicted that demand for both Luxury and Specialist holidays with increase next year.  Developed in partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the travel industry association's report also forecast that favourites such as France, Greece, Italy, Spain and the USA will all be popular in 2012, with holidaymakers continuing to seek out destinations and experiences that 'provide a strong sense of location and authenticity through offerings such as food, excursions and entertainment.'

Interestingly, financial pressures are set to result in rising demand for weddings overseas next year, .....

One of our favourite beach hang-outs in Ibiza, the super-cool Yemanja on Cala Jondals beach, has announced that it will now be open 365 days a year...including Christmas Day and New Year's Day.  We can't think of a better way to escape Christmas madness than sitting back and relaxing with sand between our toes.  In case it does get a bit chiller, there is a cosy space inside.  We love the Paella here and for a suitably celebratory drink in honour of Christmas, try the sangria de cava.

It is with sadness that we heard today of the closure of the Voile Rouge beach club in St Tropez...the scene of many decadent afternoon for A-listers  spraying champagne with abandon, this famous beach club has been at the heart of St Tropez beach-club culture for many years.  Famous - or possibly infamous - for being the first beach club to allow topless guests, the relative calm of the early afternoon gives way to a slightly livelier apero hour and then on to full-blown nightclub after dark...and it's the repeated violation of noise restrictions that has finally resulted in the French Police closing their doors for good.  A .....

We've just completed a marathon 4 days at the Luxury Travel fair at Olympia where we were sharing a stand with our sister company, the Oxford Ski Company.  Thank you to all the lovely people who came to say hello and share a glass of champagne with us - we loved meeting so many clients, past, present  and future, and it was a great opportunity to meet plenty of other people from the Luxury Travel world.  A really successful and fun four days (and we even found time to have a quick run around the Spirit of Christmas fair next door and start our Christmas shopping!) - .....
