News has just reached us of a really wonderful offer at La Bergerie - which is one of our absolute favourite villas in the South of France. In fact, it's arguably the most beautiful and impressive property to be built in the Cote d'Azur in recent times - a stunning property in a wonderful location, great for families or groups of adults alike. We are often asked 'do you have any great deals?' Because the majority of beautiful and luxurious properties are usually booked up so far in advance, it's difficult to find such quality at a reduced price! However, La Bergerie have decided to offer a few selected weeks in June and September (both perfect times to holiday in the South of France) at a massively reduced rate…this is a very rare opportunity, and one which will only be available for 2013 as an 'introductory offer' as this brand new house is newly available to rent. One of the things that sets this house head and shoulders above the rest is the level of full-service that you can expect here - from a celebrated chef to wonderful hostesses, you will be as well looked-after as you would like…and this high level of service is included within the reduced rate. A week at La Bergerie is usually €31,400 per week in June and September, but select weeks are now available at an amazing €25,950 (a 20% discount!). La Bergerie is stylish and comfortable in a wonderful location with spectacular countryside views, and the Riviera coast nearby. For more details on this amazing villa, click here . Please call us on +44 1993 899 430 to discuss dates and availability - but hurry! We would love to chat to you about what makes this house so special.

Ibiza is one of our most popular destinations so far this year, not only for the twenty-something's looking to stay up all night, but also for families looking to explore the quieter side of what this fantastic island has to offer. We're delighted that the fantastic Villa Panoramic, one of many of our 'unfeatured' properties, still has some good availability for this Summer. With its location set into the hillside overlooking Ibiza town, guests are invited to travel the short distance to be immersed in Ibiza life or simply watch from afar on its outside terrace which offers a fabulous panoramic 180 degree view that stretches from Talamanca Bay, Ibiza town, the island of Formentera and right up the valley towards the beautiful village of San Rafael. The bar and DJ area on the bottom level of the property are my favourite part - great for pre-drinks or parties making this the perfect property for larger groups, or those wishing to sample the Ibizan night life in the comfort of their own villa. Call us on +44 1993 899 430 to find out what weeks you can book, or visit www.osprivatetravel.com to see more of our fantastic properties.

A very popular Greek destination is the volcanic island in the Cyclades, Santorini. Stunning sunsets, dramatic views, an active volcano, traditional architecture and the peculiar white eggplant are all famous characteristics of this island. A visit to Perissa beach is a must, the crystal blue waters and dark endless sand make this the perfect place to while away the days. The fantastic Santorini VV offers a unique, beautiful, spacious private living area with glorious pool terrace and fabulous service, with possibly the best views on the island. The property is moulded into the volcanic rock so the bedrooms are cool and airy during the day, and dark and very quiet during the night. For those wanting quiet elegance, either as a family or as a group of friends, without the over-the-top frills, this is THE villa.. So call us on +44 1993 899 430 or visit www.osprivatetravel.com to find out more about this magical island, and more.

Corfu is one of the greenest of the Greek islands - thanks to intermittent but torrential rains from September to May. One of the more sleepy islands amongst the Ionian, Corfu sits beneath a blanket of olive trees, which is the local main cultivation. For those looking for a little something extra, the old quarters of the east-coast capital, Corfu Town, are now a designated UNESCO heritage site, and deservedly so! Located strategically at the entrance of the Adriatic Sea, to the western coasts of Albania and Greece, the island of Corfu has its roots in the 8th century BC. There are three forts in the Old Town designed by renowned Venetian engineers and used for four centuries as defensive strongholds from the Republic of Venice against the Ottoman Empire. One of our favourite Corfu properties, Villa Kalamaki, is located above Kalamaki beach, on the North of the island, and a few minutes from Kassiopi, is an ideal solution for a family with older children wanting to benefit from the social life and water sports of the area. We think May is one of the best times of year to visit Corfu, everything is open, the countryside is vibrant and beautiful, and it's not too overcrowded with the usual holiday-making crowd so why not call us on +44 1993 899 430 or visit www.osprivatetravel.com to find out more.

The beautiful Torre de Tramores Estate can accommodate up to 20 people, and consists of hectare after hectare of completely private and totally unspoilt land, making it one of the most serene and enchanting Estates in the whole of Spain. Beautiful plants, trees and herbs such as rock rose, grafted lemon and orange trees, and jasmine stimulate the senses in both colour and fragrance. Although we arrived at the property after the sun started to set behind the indigenous Iberian woodland covered mountains, the beauty of the area could not be overshadowed. Geese, goats, ducks, donkeys and the unforgettable croaking frogs all relish in this beautiful habitat tucked away in the hills behind the traditional settlement of Benahavis. This nearby cosmopolitan village is renowned for the local cuisine, also known as the 'gastronomic corner of Andalucía ', and we were luckily enough to sample the local tapas, meat and fresh fish delicacies first hand. But this residence isn't just for those seeking sanctuary and organic living. The location of this property is perfect for those wishing to perhaps dip in and out of the brighter lights of the nearby Marbella, Puerto Banus and Estapona, which can be reached in less than thirty minutes by car. But don't just take our word for it, the Estate has some remaining availability for May and June of this year, so you could be there sampling the freshly grown oranges, watching your child enjoy a donkey ride on 'Thierry', or enjoying the locally grown Ronda wine just an hour from where the grapes were picked. Call us on +44 1993 899134 or visit www.osprivatetravel.com to find out more information on this, and many more of our beautiful properties.

The annual St Barths Film Festival is coming up on 25th - 30th April 2013 allowing the island to open the doors to the cultural richness of the Caribbean by way of cinema. The event launched in 1996, and is now an established event on the island's cultural calendar, the festival has put St. Barths on the map as a meeting place for regional filmmakers to come together to screen and discuss their work. In addition to the 35mm films screened every evening on the beach, the festival also presents an annual round-table discussion on Caribbean cinema, offering a glimpse into the unique arts and culture scene of the Caribbean basin. For the full cinematic experience, why not stay on one of our featured properties on the island, Villa Lys Blancs . The property offers houses a newly built, extended deck which wraps around a large lap pool, offering stunning, almost 180 degree views from Shell beach to Gustavia, and all the way to the ocean north of St Jean. Give us a call on +44 1993 899 430 to experience this for yourself, or visit www.osprivatertravel.com to find out more about our fantastic Winter Sun properties.

Thursday 28th March - Now Open! Legendary Las Salinas beach restaurant Jockey Club is back in business, just in time for the Easter weekend - also quite possibly the most beautiful time of the year to visit the iconic Ibiza beach. Enjoy the tranquility of Salinas in the springtime over a hearty Jockey Club breakfast or a long, lazy lunch on the sun-drenched terrace, with DJs such as Stefano Geminis, spinning laidback beachside beats all afternoon. Friday 29th March - Have a Good Friday feast at Yemanja or get involved with the Semana Santa Procession - a visually spectacular traditional parade from Dalt Vila's cathedral into Ibiza town. The annual Ibiza Semana Santa procession is a sight to behold, regardless of your beliefs and opinions. Commencing as the sun goes down, hundreds of people clad in traditional Catholic robes carry multiple religious effigies through the winding streets of Dalt Vila by candlelight, past all the churches in Ibiza town, to the sounds of sombre and very dramatic music by marching bands. Arrive early at the cathedral to get a good vantage point, or find a position in the main streets if you arrive later. Saturday 30th March - Pacha Ibiza have called in the big guns for their Easter weekend antics, with house music legend Todd Terry headlining on Saturday night. He'll be joined by Spanish songstress Rebeka Brown, famous for putting on amazing live shows - an event you don't want to miss! Sunday 31st March - Partake in an Easter Lunch and Egg hunt this Easter Sunday at Agroturismo Atzaro. This event calls on grown ups and little ones, to enjoy a delicious set menu lunch in the sun with a fun Easter egg hunt for the kids, coordinated by Kids In Ibiza. Monday 1st April - One of Ibiza's most glamorous and popular parties pops up at Nassau Beach Club in Playa d'en Bossa on Easter Monday, with a special edition of their event called 'Love Horses'. A fusion of music, art, food, fashion and more - including kids entertainment by Kids In Ibiza from 2.30pm until 6.30pm - music is by Miguel Garji, Stefano Geminis, Jack Steinel and Tuccillo, while the fashion show is presented by Fruscio.
Kapari Bay in May?

One of our favourite Greek properties have a fantastic offer for May half term that we think is too good to keep to ourselves! This year, during May half term (26th May to 2nd June), Kapari Bay - which is usually just booked exclusively - will be doing bed and breakfast rate by the room. The prices start at just £750.00 per person for a 7 night stay and includes use of the magical villas set in 5 private acres by the sea and only an 8 minute seaside walk form the Peligoni Club. The offer includes full use of their 2 swimming pools, a 12 man 225HP RIB for watersports and trips to beaches, tavernas and food markets. With the Peligoni club just around the corner, there is an abundance of activities; including windsurfing, sailing, paddle boarding, tennis, parties and much more at low season prices. We think this is the ideal family holiday villa to keep children of all ages entertained. They can even get involved with interactive cooking demonstrations and tuition, "eat what you make" and they can show off their new found skills. The property specialises in the use of local fresh ingredients cooked in a Mediterranean style using their wood fired oven, BBQ and kitchen, which can be for individuals or whole families, and children are always welcome. This offer is also extended between the 1st - 15th September - but book up soon as we don't see availability lasting long! Call us on +44 1993 899 430 or visit www.osprivatetravel.com to find out more.

To me there are very few pastimes more enjoyable that a long lunch in the sunshine. On a recent visit to St Barths I had lunch at Sand Bar Eden Rock which is located directly on the beach front over looking the bay. This has to be one of my most memorable lunches in a long time; the food and service are just as impressive as the surroundings. The menu is created by Jean-Georges Vongerichten and as we walked into the restaurant we were hit with the intoxicating smell of truffle as it was being shaved over the freshly baked wood-fired pizzas - one of their best sellers. The menu is diverse; from simply grilled fish and meats, great burgers, sandwiches and pizzas to refined yet simple dishes. My lunch consisted of a perfectly cooked sirloin steak with a side of truffle fire grilled asparagus whilst my lunch guest tucked into a miso glazed salmon with sautéed mushrooms and spinach. Everything was cooked and executed to perfection. The wine list is varied and reasonably priced, however, if you want to splash out on some great vintages, head to the back of the list and there will be plenty for your there. For me a trip to St. Barths would now be incomplete without making an excuse to have lunch at the Sand Bar. If you are looking for hotel or villa options in St. Barths please give our travel consultants a call on +44 1993 899430 or make an enquiry.

Party time at Sandy Lane, Barbados

Recently I had the opportunity to visit Sandy Lane with one of our guests personal assistants during a whistle stop tour of the Caribbean . Our mission; to find 'the perfect' venue for his 40th birthday party for himself and around 70 guests. Anyone that has visited Sandy Lane in the last couple of years will know of its exacting service delivered with professional yet relaxed Bajan warmth - everyone you meet comes with a smile and a genuine willingness to help. Resident Manager, Mario explained to us that this 'warmth' and 'personality' was something that they have worked really hard on over the last couple of years….whilst I haven't experienced the Sandy Lane of previous years, what they are doing today seems to be working! The rooms and suites at Sandy Lane all offer opulent space and comfort, with great views of the ocean and beach front. The pink and gold accents in the rooms may not be to everyone's taste and the (over) use of marble in the bathrooms may be too much for some, but in all, I find would find it hard believe that any guests would not to be able to relax and unwind here. So…party! The opportunities here are endless. Within a very short space of time we had explored options such as a relaxed beach party and dinner on the shore, themed cocktail party around the pool with live entertainment and a gala dinner, fireworks and headline act at the Clubhouse where guests would be able to party away to the small hours. The options here are pretty endless and the events management team are eager and excited to make things unique and special. This is where celebrities and VIP's choose to celebrate parties and I can see why - they just do it right. Planning events such as this is where we excel - we get to know you, your requirements and approach each request with vigour. Whether you are looking to arrange a large party or something a little smaller and low key, do get in touch with us, we'd love to see if we can help. Find out more about Sandy Lane, and other our other fantastic properties that don't feature on our website on www.osprivatetravel.com or call us to find out more on +44 1993 899 430.

Being food lovers - and proud! - we are delighted to confirm that 2013 is officially celebrated as the Year of Gastronomy in Santorini , so this year the island will be full of celebrations of delicious Santorini food. The locals have rolled up their sleeves and have set out to present their traditional products in any way they can think of, from cooking classes to presentations of local produce, and from variations on traditional recipes to visiting the fields. This Summer, Santorini will offer an insider's view of her kitchen. So if you feel that the beautiful weather, romantic sunsets, and breathtaking scenery isn't enough of an excuse to visit this stunning island, then why not go in celebration for its gastronomy and sample one of the island's delicacies of deep fried tomatoes while you're there! And the good news doesn't end there; we have the perfect base - Santorini VV - to whet your appetite further.
The Caribbean – the ultimate year round destination?

The Caribbean has long been known as the perfect place to head off to during the chill of a European winter to top up on some much needed vitamin D and allow the tropical sun to relax your muscles and warm your bones. And, having just come back from 8 days in the British Virgin Islands and Antigua during the January 'Big Freeze', I've been reacquainted with the benefits of sunshine during the long winter months - I'm tempted to say it should be available on the NHS! The Caribbean is surprisingly accessible - there are several direct flights to various islands every day, and such a great variety of accommodation to choose from. And, especially when travelling outside of the peak Christmas and New Year period, it's a surprisingly affordable winter holiday. Although the Caribbean is synonymous with white sandy beaches and clear blue water, many people forget about the huge variety of activities (sailing, watersports, hiking.....) and the family-friendly nature of the islands. The locals are naturally wonderful hosts and adjusting to 'island time' results in a wonderfully relaxing holiday (helped along by the odd rum punch!). However, the Caribbean is often overlooked outside of the winter months, something we passionately want to change! Possibly with the exception of September, the Caribbean offers sun, warmth and a fabulously sunny holiday throughout the year. 'Hurricane season' (June to November) rarely means more than a short-lived afternoon shower (which we feel offers an excellent opportunity for an afternoon snooze) and there is little variation in temperatures throughout the year. However, unlike popular European summer destinations, where peak season prices are at their highest in July and August, this is when the Caribbean offers its best value for money, with 'low season' prices offering some incredibly luxurious villas and hotels at a fraction of their winter prices. Even taking into account the higher cost of long-haul flights to get there, the Caribbean often offers a far better value luxury family holiday than staying closer to home, with so much to see and do that everyone in the family will be kept happy.
What a way to spend a day, bobbing around the Bay of St Tropez on a CNB 77' sailing yacht - Swallows and Amazons....sunny days on the Riviera don't come much better than that! Unfortunately though, such perfect weather wasn't ideal for racing as we were supposed to be crewing during Les Voiles de St Tropez , the annual racing week in St Tropez where over 100 of the world's best racing yachts get together to strut their stuff. Although the day didn't provide the exhilarating sailing that we were hoping for, it gave us a great opportunity to check out this fabulous yacht and make the most of the delicious, tempting treats that he yacht's super-talented chef kept passing up from the galley! Our crew was made up of ex-America's Cup sailors who were itching to let the yacht loose and do what it was designed to do, but unfortunately they will have to wait until next time. We, on the other hand, enjoyed the view and the experience of heading back into the most famous 'fishing village' in the world with such a spectacular fleet of yachts. An amazing day....better luck with the wind next year.....

At OS private Travel we're massive fans of Morocco and Marrakesh...especially the fabulous shopping opportunities in the souks! However, we know that not everyone can hop on a plane to Marrakesh when the shopping urge attacks (much as we'd advocate acting on such urges!)! Therefore, we were very excited to learn that a traditional Moroccan Riad will be constructed in Harrods from now until November, exhibiting everything from lanterns, to ceramics, metal and woodwork products. Even the food hall is embracing Moroccan flavour, featuring the key ingredients found in Moroccan cuisine, including olives, wine and saffron...we'll see you there!

So, after a quick hop from Mallorca to Ibiza, we've had a very busy week buzzing around the island viewing and selecting the best that Ibiza has to offer. Ibiza is known for its spectacular villas, so the bar is set very high here, Ibiza certainly knows how to do glamour in style! However, we've sifted through many villas to bring you only the best...and we're coming back to the office full of beans and dying to share with you some of the properties we've discovered! Ibiza is the holiday spot - and home - of many A-listers...and some of the properties that we are able to offer won't be featured live on our website in order to protect the privacy of some high-profile owners. We're even featuring one stunning property with some of the best sea views we've ever seen, where a particularly catchy number one single was recorded a couple of years ago....our lips are sealed, but we can understand how you might be inspired to sing, when faced with a view like that!

We've had a fabulous, if very busy, week in Mallorca this week...such a great time to be on this fabulous island, with some glorious late autumn sunshine and warm days. We've been visiting and getting to know some of our new Mallorca properties and are very pleased indeed with what we've found...even if we do say so ourselves! There have been a few properties that haven't met our exacting standards, but we've mainly found perfect villas in some spectacular locations throughout the island. We've managed to include a real variety of styles of property - from rambling, comfortable Fincas full of character and class, to uber-modern, stylish properties with every mod con and wonderful facilities. We take our research duties very seriously and have been to some our favourite old haunts on the island, but have been very excited to discover some new places...we especially loved Numero Ocho in the Plaza in Pollensa. A lazy Sunday brunch here, amidst the bustle of the Sunday market was a real highlight.

Rupert Longsdon, Director and Founder of the Oxford Ski Company, has just returned from an incredible yachting holiday to Indonesia...lucky man! He has made everyone in the office green with envy with his tales of some of the places he went and things he saw. He was a guest on a 150ft, 6 berth sailing catamaran, the Douce France, and the 10 day route took in Bali, and the stunning Gili and Komodo islands. From tales of trips to see the famous Komodo Dragons up close and personal, to elaborate descriptions of the amazing Asian cuisine cooked up every day by the on-board chef, this is a completely unique and beautiful part of the world to explore by sea, and was a very special holiday indeed. For more details on the Douce France or similar yachts and itineraries, please do get in touch to discuss your requirements - we can arrange for any size yacht charter, anywhere in the world.

We were shocked to read in TTG, the travel industry journal today, that many Agents are considering charging for their concierge services. One of the Agents featured in the article said 'Much of our time is spent attending to detail and doing concierge duties for clients. The amount of time we spend can affect our bottom line. Clients shouldn't accept you will do all this extra work for nothing'. However, we feel passionately that that is exactly what we're here for! We feel that the extra things that our Private Travel Consultants do to make your holiday run smoothly, and to create an extra special experience, are very important. We know from client feedback that these things really make a difference, and this service is totally free to our clients...we're passionate about great service...to experience what we can do for you, give us a call!

It is with sadness that we heard today of the closure of the Voile Rouge beach club in St Tropez...the scene of many decadent afternoon for A-listers spraying champagne with abandon, this famous beach club has been at the heart of St Tropez beach-club culture for many years. Famous - or possibly infamous - for being the first beach club to allow topless guests, the relative calm of the early afternoon gives way to a slightly livelier apero hour and then on to full-blown nightclub after dark...and it's the repeated violation of noise restrictions that has finally resulted in the French Police closing their doors for good. A list regulars such as Bruce Willis, Paris Hilton and Robert de Niro will be sobbing into their Cristal...but here at OS Private Travel HQ, we prefer a civilised glass of Rose 'a la Piscine' at Club 55, or the Prawn and Grapefruit Salad at Laguna Beach club instead! Whether you prefer the glamour or the more understated side of the Cote d'Azur, let us find the perfect property for you...we can even book you your table for lunch at Club 55.

Despite Necker Island's much publicised fire in August 2011, the indomitable Sir Richard Branson vowed to rebuild the destroyed Great House as soon as possible - his daughter Holly even going ahead with her wedding on the island, as planned, just before Christmas. The Great House itself will be rebuilt in due course, but the island is still very much available for exclusive hire with the six beautiful Bali Houses as well as Temple House (which is normally Sir Richard's private home)....and if you need any further bed space for your group, additional accommodation comes in the shape of the fabulous catamaran, Necker Belle, which will be moored alongside the island. The rest of the Island's facilities, including the Beach Pool Pavilion, Tennis Pavilion and Watersports Pavilion were untouched by the fire and the legendary Virgin service and attention to detail also remain. If you've always dreamed of visiting this famous island, but you're not travelling with a group (or budget) large enough to rent the whole island exclusively, 'Celebration Week' dates for 2012 have just been released, which enables you to stay on Necker and enjoy all of the amazing facilities, but on a room by room basis - please contact us for more details.

ABTA (the Association of British Travel Agents) has just released its annual Travel Trends Report for 2012 and has predicted that demand for both Luxury and Specialist holidays with increase next year. Developed in partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the travel industry association's report also forecast that favourites such as France, Greece, Italy, Spain and the USA will all be popular in 2012, with holidaymakers continuing to seek out destinations and experiences that 'provide a strong sense of location and authenticity through offerings such as food, excursions and entertainment.' Interestingly, financial pressures are set to result in rising demand for weddings overseas next year, with one in five couples currently getting married abroad and saving an average of £12,500 in the process. It also appears that, even in challenging economic circumstances, the British public still prioritise their holidays - Mark Tanzer, ABTA's chief executive officer, predicted that the "resilience" British consumers have shown with regards to holidays will remain in 2012. OS Private Travel can help you with your Luxury Travel requirements in 2012, for all of these destinations and more - and also for advice and ideas for planning weddings abroad, so please do get in touch for objective, independent advice.

We're so excited about some of the fabulous new properties, which will be making their way onto www.osprivatetravel.com and www.oxfordski.com over the next few months…watch this space! Di was particularly impressed with some possible additions to our Private Islands collection and some fabulous possible new villa destinations slightly further afield, and Mark was really excited to learn about some new and very beautiful hotels in Cortina, Italy and St Moritz, Switzerland. The venue for the ILTM is the world-famous Palais de Congress, which is also the venue for the Cannes Film Festival. Mark was disappointed to find that the red carpet hadn't been left out for him, but Di was far more disappointed that her visit hadn't coincided with that of George Clooney!

One of our favourite beach hang-outs in Ibiza, the super-cool Yemanja on Cala Jondals beach, has announced that it will now be open 365 days a year...including Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We can't think of a better way to escape Christmas madness than sitting back and relaxing with sand between our toes. In case it does get a bit chiller, there is a cosy space inside. We love the Paella here and for a suitably celebratory drink in honour of Christmas, try the sangria de cava.

Although Sailing Yachts have a charm and attraction of their own, there is something slightly 'Bond-like' that only a sleek, fast power yacht can offer! Along with a full complement of crew (even including your own private Dive Instructor), state of the art entertainment facilities, super-stylish interiors and spacious, comfortable cabins that rival any hotel room in the world, this is the epitome of luxury experiences. However, when you add the spectacular surroundings of the Maldives to this very special on-board experience, you really do have the ultimate holiday combination. The Maldives needs no introduction - a stunning archipelago is 1,192 islands, you will find some of the most beautiful beaches, crystal clear seas and world-class diving here. And we believe that your own floating hotel with a different view every hour - let alone every day - really does offer the best way to truly experience these magnificent islands. You have no set itinerary and you're free to race, or cruise slowly, from deserted island, to isolated sand bar, to spectacular reef, to glass-like lagoon to coral garden. And whilst doing so, enjoy the world-class service and cuisine aboard your yacht - surely this really is the best of both worlds?! Call us to find out more about, what we think, really is the best way to experience the Magical Maldives.

For those longing to explore the evocative Tuscan countryside, Poggio alle Corti could not be better-located. This bucolic property is set within 10 hectares of olive groves, gardens and vineyards and enjoys an atmosphere of restful seclusion, coupled with the luxury of close proximity to Florence - Tuscany's capital city. This idyllic hideaway exudes all things Italian, and their understandable love of fine, fresh food. Sleeping a maximum of eleven, guests have the choice to dine al fresco on the terrace, opt for the more formal large dining room, or the more casual - but equally comfortable - farmhouse kitchen table. Poggio alle Corti is also mere minutes' walk from a renowned restaurant, which comes highly recommended by the villa's owners, and also nearby are Badia a Passignano, villages with excellent restaurants to choose from. So if you love Italian cuisine as much as we do, and just the thought of locally grown and produced olive-oil and juicy meatballs makes your mouth water then ' Eataly ' is right up your street! Pound after pound of osso buco and lamb racks, ten different shapes of pasta, ranging from gluten free to the otto file grain variety and olive oils that can hardly be pronounced. At Eataly they encourage a "culture of curiosity, passion, harmony, fun and honesty" - a great reflection of all things continental. So why not sample "la dolce vita" and stock up on all things Italian, before heading out to enjoy the delights from where it originated!
We see family holidays as a break for everyone, so we have made it our priority to ensure we provide all of the best nannies in your chosen destination, all as part of our complimentary concierge service. Fully qualified and experienced nannies can be easily arranged to look after your children throughout your stay on a full time or flexible basis. If you just fancy a couple of nights off then babysitters can be organised for evenings out, and we will also take care of any children's equipment requirements, from cots to buggies. All our nannies will come to your villa to take care of your child/children in a familiar environment. They are extremely skilled at ensuring the children are cared for enough to ensure you can give yourself that well deserved break, but not too much to interfere in precious family time and holiday memories. The care hours and days are catered to your own individual desires, routines and weather conditions. An example of a typical day for the kids in Mallorca could be a trip to the beach outside the hottest times of day, then back to your villa for lunch inside as a family, and a break from the sun. Drawing and creative activities will be organised, and then, out for some fresh air and swimming or playing games in some shaded area in the beautiful surroundings. Costs start at just €120.00 based on an 8 hour day, at times to suit you. So why not let us take the care out of childcare, call us on +44 1993 899 430 or visit www.osprivatetravel.com now to start planning your perfect family getaway.

Miami isn't just about gorgeous beaches, beautiful people, and an amazing night life. Miami has so much more to offer and is home to many cultural entertainment venues, theatres, museums, parks and performing arts centres. What's more, one of the most prestigious art shows in the Americas and Miami Arts calendar - Art Basel - is coming up very soon from 6th - 9th December 2012. As part of the event, Club Silencio - the brainchild of the esteemed designer, David Lynch, offering a new cinema experience with premieres, movies and retrospectives, along with concerts and other performances - is crossing the Pond to the USA, popping up for just four nights. The 'members only' guest list is invited to preview up and coming bands and eclectic DJ's whilst sampling unique cocktails, wines and spirits. The event will be hosted at the Delano South Beach Hotel for the duration where the hotel's nightclub will be transformed into a salon-type ambience similar to the original location on rue Montmartre, mirroring that of the Parisian origin of this event. And the best news of all - we now have a great portfolio of properties in Miami so it's easier than ever to experience the best of what the sunshine state has to offer!
We are pleased to announce that one of our favourite villas in Marrakech - Villa 12 - is currently available over the Christmas period! This property is a great example of a 'home away from home'. The décor is typical of the self taught interior designer - Meryanne Loum-Martin - who almost single-handedly started the craze for transforming run down Riads in Marrakesh and bringing them back to life through an elegant and stylish cultural experience for guests. This Villa is unique and absolutely stunning. It is situated in the grounds of the spectacular Four Seasons resort, offering guests the buzz and activities aplenty of a luxury resort. Alternatively, with its separate entrance and stunning private landscaped gardens, you need not even venture into the grounds of the hotel - the best of both worlds! If this isn't enough to tempt you, then how about temperatures in the mid to late teens all through the Winter… book the perfect Christmas getaway for your friends and family while you still can! Rates start from just €3,000.00 per night - call us on +44 1993 899430, before it gets snapped up, and have a Christmas to remember!

As temperatures are dropping across the UK, Europe and most of the East Coast of the States, my mind tends to start thinking about Winter and 'Ski mode' (I know a great company for skiing holidays by the way, www.oxfordski.com ) However, a recent inspection trip to Miami in the Sunshine State of Florida has somewhat tempered with my climate clock. For those looking for some sun in the winter months then Miami is arguably a great choice and an attractive alternative to the Caribbean....it's the Winter Sun destination of choice for many an American, Brazilian family, a Russian Oligarch or just about anyone. Whether you are looking to party like Diddy on the stylish South Beach hangouts such as Prive, Sky Bar or the Rose Bar at the Delano or you wish to simply kick back in your private villa, the sun is always guaranteed to shine. Our portfolio on Miami Beach features some of the most exclusive private homes ranging from well appointed 3 bedroom homes on the waterfront to lavish 6 bedroom mansions. Naturally our portfolio is hand picked because each property offers something very special. My personal favourite is Valentina, a design led villa with exceptional views across the water, a contemporary interior with incredible art hanging on the walls and an outside space yearning for a sunshine party..this is the place to be! Service! Regardless of which luxury property in Miami you select, you can be assured of the most attentive concierge service. Reservation for the best (booked out) restaurant in town....done! VIP table at the Delano...done! Private Yacht Charter to moor up outside your villa...done (as long as it's under 100ft, anything bigger and we'll take you to the Marina instead). There is so much to see and do in Miami and the are and with our local concierge at your beck and call, you'll be sure to get the best advice from people that live and breath Miami year round. When to go? NOW! The sun is shining and South Beach is buzzing. From early November till Spring is one of the best times to visit. For more information on our Miami portfolio please give us a call on +44 1993 899430....tells us what you are looking for and we'll match you with the perfect place.

Catalunya, in the North Eastern corner of Spain, is not just about the cosmopolitan Costa Brava, the sumptuous escudellla stew, and the distinctive Gothic Architect Antoni Gaudi - this is just the start! Catalunya has its own unique character which sets it apart from the rest of the Iberian Peninsula. It's an autonomous region with its own language, Catalan, and a fierce sense of camaraderie among the local population. This brotherhood was demonstrated at the 24th annual castells competition in Tarragona. A Catalan tradition, believed to date to the 18th century, consisting of human towers of up to 10 people-storeys high, usually with a small child placed on top. This is a great spectator event, with several hundreds of people filling the streets to witness the towering achievement. Talking of towers, we are pleased to present one of our freshest properties - Toure Roure , which nestles amongst the Gavarre Hills in Catalunya. The Torre Roure estate comprises of a large traditional Catalan masia and smaller modernista Tower designed by a pupil of Gaudi. The property is set in 20 acres of olive grove and landscaped gardens 7 miles from the sea. So why not make like Rapunzel and stay in your very own Tower from €8,250.00 per week, call us on +44 1993 899 430 or www.osprivatetravel.com for more information this property, and many more.

We were delighted to discover who the winners of White Ibiza's 'The Best of Ibiza Awards 2012' were, especially as two of the chosen winners have featured in our blogs - because we know exactly how good they are! Blue Marlin won the first prize for the best restaurant/lounge bar on the island, and rightly so. This uber stylish beach club provides top level service and entertainment, not to mention their delectable Mediterranean cuisine fusion with Asian influences. Another favourite of ours is Cafe Mambo, who came up trumps as the best sunset restaurant/bar. We strongly believe that no Ibiza holiday experience is complete without celebrating the sun setting beyond the horizon from the front row seats at Café Mambo. If this is your kind of thing, Can Spectra looks directly out over Es Vedra and Formentera, offering spectacular views of the famous Ibiza sunset, and the sunrise too. When you arrive at this property you literally can't help but stop and stare. Call the team at OS Private Travel on +44 1993 899 430 or www.osprivatetravel.com for more information this property, and many more fabulous experiences in the White Isle of Ibiza.

Retreating from Autumn in the UK, we are just delighted to be in the Algarve again. The welcoming heat makes it seem like a world away after just a 3 hour flight, and every time we visit we discover something new. We've been off in pursuit of one of our biggest Portugese passions - ice cream! Vilamoura houses one of our favourite ice cream cafes, although there is more to this maritime complex than an abundance of fabulous cafes and restaurants. Vilamoura is ideally located, slap bang in the middle of Portugal's south coast and with an abundance of sporting and leisure facilities for the whole family. As well as the huge assortment of bars, cafes and restaurants, you'll find fashionable boutiques and shops, as well as a casino and club (plus the obligatory golf course) centred around the chic marina. A must visit is Geladaria Capriccio, which is the perfect setting to watch the yachts slide by whilst eating ice cream of any flavour you can imagine! Just a short drive away is Quinta do Lago, possibly one of the most exclusive resorts in Europe boasting some of the most spectacular and beautiful villas in the Algarve . With some of the best golf courses in the world, this area isn't just for the aspiring Tiger Woods. This small sumptuous pocket of Portugal brags miles of unblemished beaches bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Wish you were here? We're sure you'll love it here as much as we do - let us plan a Portuguese discovery for you -give us a call on +44 1993 899 430

Wish you were here! We've escaped the onset of the chilly Oxfordshire winter for palacios and promenades in Palma - Mallorca's captivating capital is really 'having a moment' this season. On first arrival, it's hard to ignore the gothic splendour of La Seu - the city's vast 11 th century cathedral. Its overwhelming presence heavily inspired Catalonia's most famous architect, the eccentric and fiercely religious Antoni Gaudi, who came here to help with restoration work in 1901. Heading behind the cathedral, we find ourselves in Palma old town amid a maze of streets that hint towards an Arabian past. We visit the Arab Baths - the last remaining Moorish building and find hidden art galleries that make us feel like we're in Florence, Italy. Wandering into Joan Miro's studio we feel as if the artist could return at any time. Left untouched since his death in 1983, the space is full of open pots of paint and works in progress on huge canvases displaying his vivid, iconic displays of bright primary colours. The foundation set up in his name promotes contemporary art and artists too. From here we stroll along the breezy, cosmopolitan, Passeig de Born and head to El Corte Ingles for some excellent shopping. We're pleased to see that Bar Bosch, established in 1936, is still the place to go for good ensaimadas (delicious Mallorcan patisseries). Palma's culinary menu offers so much more than just cerveza and tapas. There are foody boutiques aplenty and you'll find authentic island offerings in every establishment from the Mercat de S'Olivar to Kent born Marc Fosh's latest offering, the Misa Braseria . Misa is affordable, informal and a definite contender for Michelin star glory. It offers modern 'farmhouse' food - we love the fillet of beef baked in hay. Make sure you book a table on the terrace. Bens d'Avall , Benet Vicen's newest initiative at Club de Mar is a bistro offering the finest quality family recipes. We're sure you'll love it here as much as we do - let us plan a Mallorcan adventure for you -give us a call on +44 1993 899 430

For those of you who find the coast of western Andalucía a bit too fast paced and metropolitan, you'll be pleased to know that a shoreline sanctuary can be found by way of a welcome shade and refreshingly cool drinks at the unique Spanish chiringuitos. Indulge yourself in some shellfish you've probably never heard of, and an assortment of fresh seafood delectably battered - the classic fritura Malagueña. The time passes slowly outside of the city in Andalucía, and where better to while away the hours that in these humble watering holes where sardines and other fish fresh from the sea are roasted on cane sticks over open fires built in old beached fishing boats and served simply with salt, pepper and lemon. On the subject of Spanish sanctuaries, we have the perfect hideaway property - Torre de Tramores .This fabulous property, near to the lovely Andalucía village of Benahavis, provides a spacious, stylish and comfortable setting for family and group holidays, and is available for holiday rental when not in use by the Goldsmith family, the Estate's owners. Call the team at OS Private Travel on +44 1993 899 430 or www.osprivatetravel.com for more information this property, and many more perfect havens in Andalucía.

It's National Sausage week here in the U.K and to celebrate we're trying to decide who is the chipolata champ, or the 'wurst' of the lot. So as part of our investigations we are sampling the Italian counterpart - the Salami. For all you sausage lovers out there, you'll be interested to know that the Italian Salami is not one specific sausage; it is a generic term describing any type of encased meat product. Wherever Italian settlers went, so did their sausage traditions, and here we embrace the Salame di Felino - originating from the food rich region around Parma. And where better to enjoy this dry aged sausage than Northern Italy itself? One of our Italian properties, Villa dell'Orto , is the perfect property to absorb the local culture and food fairs (sagre) at their weekly markets which are often hosted by the small picturesque villages that surround the villa. You can discover Tuscany and the genuine Italian lifestyle, with its unique flavours, natural beauty and artistic legacy, during your unforgettable holiday in one of Italy's most beloved regions. For more information on Villa Dell'Orto and our other Italian properties, speak to OS Private Travel on +44 1993 899 430 or www.osprivatetravel.com

One of the finest, and most popular destinations for long term holiday rentals is St Tropez. Many of our international Clients opt for the luxurious area that clings to Pampelonne beach, between the Route des Plages, Boulevard du Général Patch, and Route de L'Epi. This is 'the' place to be seen in St Tropez . A place of historicreference, this sandy stretch of beach saw in the Allied landings in August 1944. Since then subsequent landings have been made by the rich, the fabulous, and the simply anonymous sun-seekers, and it is easy to see why! The perfect property to soak up the electric atmosphere and Tropezienne air is La Terrace . It's practically impossible to be any nearer to Club 55 and Nikki beach than this property, and it's slightly elevated position gives you the perfect aspect to watch the super chic world go by. Why not hire the villa for 2 months so all of your friends and family can enjoy - with one of our favourite pools and an outdoor area perfect for outside living and entertaining, this is a fabulous option for a whole Summer rental. We also have many more similarly fantastic and well located properties to spend your Summer.
With the new 'Skyfall' film due out this week we're all looking into ways we can look like the quintessential English gentleman, perfectly dressed whatever the situation, or travel like 007, to our newest Goldeneye resort in Jamaica - coming soon! The original Ian Fleming Villa at GoldenEye overlooks the Caribbean Sea in the quiet village of Oracabessa Bay on Jamaica's north coast. Not only is the property of unsurpassed beauty, it is also where author Ian Fleming created the James Bond character and wrote all 14 of the superspy novels. The property is removed from it all - secluded and private, yet just a short walk away you can indulge in a spa treatment or enjoy a shaken Martini. If the World is not Enough this property certainly is! If these walls could talk they'd tell tales of artists and writers, spies and seducers. Keep an eye out for this, and more Caribbean properties on our website soon! www.osprivatetravel.com

Set within an orange scented valley, the Sóller tram system nestles within the tree coloured landscape of Mallorca . From the capital, Palma, the first of two locomotives transports tourists and islanders 27 kilometres through tunnels and over mountains. Sixty minutes later, the second takes you down to the seafront at Puerto de Sóller, a charming seaside resort. The tram is definitely our favourite method of transport, it travels straight through the middle of the beautiful scenery, showcasing the spectacular views, before heading to the harbour where it wraps itself around the large, relaxed bay - the best way to see Mallorca by miles! Another of our favourite Mallorcan aspects can be found at Casa Faro . The property boasts large terraces that offer a spectacular 180 degree view of the sea and Port de Sóller, and with a couple of notable new hotels there opening recently, it's very much 'the' place to be right now.
As the Mediterranean yacht charter season begins to wind down this month, it's time to think ahead to new destinations to explore... The Caribbean remains one of the most popular charter grounds in the world due to its incredible diversity, lovely climate and totally tropical vibe. Yachts all over Europe are beginning to crew up for their annual pilgrimage to the islands this autumn - the warm winds, the scent of coconut, and the tinkle of steel drums are drawing them across the Atlantic! Step off your yacht at Antigua's infamous English Harbour for some Caribbean culture and excellent food, stroll along pristine white beaches in the British Virgin Islands or explore somewhere uninhabited and exotic where you'll have just a few chickens for company! The choices are endless - from rainforests to mountain peaks, there is so much on offer. A yacht holiday gives you the opportunity to devise an entirely flexible itinerary and you can change your mind on a whim. The level of service you'll experience is just incredible too - expect to live like a king. You won't be looked after this well in the best hotels in the world. And did we mention the onboard facilities?? Some beautiful yachts to consider - 25m Sailing Yacht, Selene - sleeps 6. The perfect choice for sailors keen to make the most of the fantastic Caribbean winds. A brilliant combinaton of luxury cruising and performance sailing. From $32,000 per week. 44m Motor Yacht, Jems - sleeps 10. High top speeds make Jems an ideal option for some serious island hopping, and exploring as much of the Caribbean as possible in one cruise. The ultimate in luxurious family holidays, guests will relax in true style on board a yacht which offers everything you can dream of, including not one, but two outstanding chefs.
If you need to entice your other half for a once in a lifetime romantic getaway now is the time - grab this rare opportunity whilst you can! Necker Island -Richard Branson's very own home and hideaway, is usually hired privately by an individual or group, but during these Celebration Weeks, held on selected dates throughout the year, couples or singles can book individual rooms and share the island with others. To picture the scene, imagine finding the best possible room in a boutique hotel and placing it in what can only be described as paradise...then you're almost there. There is no particular schedule during your stay so you can be as active or idle as you like. You can sail, brush up on your tennis skills with the resident professional, or even master the art of sunbathing in the Caribbean sun. The cost is all inclusive and meals are generally taken together in a variety of locations around the island. However, if you wish to dine privately on one evening, our staff can make all the necessary arrangements. As soon as you arrive on the island the world really is your oyster. A 7 night stay on the stunning Necker Island starts at $13,425 per person including return transfers, all food, drink and activities. For available dates, and to find out more, call us on +44 1993 899 430

It's always good to plan ahead for Christmas so why not enjoy a festive season with a difference this year and head to Morocco ? We think this is the perfect time for escaping the festive madness and unruly weather (especially if you're here in Britain) so opt for an alternative Christmas this year and soak up the fresh mountain air of the rugged Atlas Mountains . Set in the foothills of this incredible mountain range, Sir Richard Branson's very own Kasbah Tamadot is only one hour away from the lively city of Marrakech but seems worlds apart from the bustling souks and spicy mixture of Arab, Berber, European and African cultures. As if you need any more encouragement, we have some magical Christmas and New Year offers to tempt you away - these are definitely not to be missed. For those of you that need turkey and brussel sprouts to feel at home at this time of year, a traditional Christmas Day meal will be served with all the trimmings. Soak up the exotic location with excursions to local villages, mule rides and organised treks during your stay too. Jingle all the way with the traditional belly dancers and celebrate Christmas Berber style! 3 nights at Kasbah Tamadot from 23rd December starts at just £1,050 per person including all food and drink and a great many festive surprises. Stay over New Year and you'll be treated to a gala dinner and fireworks! Call us to find out more +44 1993 899 430

September Sun - One of the best times to get away!

We're feeling very proud to be British right now and despite the Olympic euphoria currently sweeping these fair isles, we're sure that those of you who are also in the UK will agree that it's been a drizzly summer weather wise! The Olympics finish this coming Sunday and no matter where you are in the world, we're sure you'll need something else to look forward to when it's all over! So how about some September sun? Don't tell anyone but we think this is one of the BEST times to go away. Prices plummet following the peak weeks of July and August and with all the children back at school, it's a quieter time to get away while the weather's still good. How about Zermatt ? This stunning, postcard-pretty village occupies a sunny corner of the Swiss Alps below the lofty heights of the mighty Matterhorn. It's incredibly peaceful here due to the 'no cars allowed' policy and with wooden barns and cobbled streets, it sometimes feels like nothing has changed for centuries. Despite this, Zermatt is buzzing with activity throughout the Summer - take a horse drawn carriage around the town and stop off at a number of boutique shops, bakeries, chocolatiers and cafes. If you're a foodie, look no further - Zermatt is a gourmet paradise boasting some of the best restaurants we've found in the Alps. There is excellent hiking too, so let the fresh mountain air fill your lungs and enjoy some sparkling sunshine - you're sure to feel well rested after a visit to Zermatt. Chalets Les Anges (sleeps up to 14) and Chalet Maurice (sleeps 12) are available for selected weeks throughout September on a bed & breakfast or fully catered basis from 1,209 CHF per person (£798 according to today's rates).
Like their brothers on the mainland, all Mallorcan's love a good fiesta - so much so that they find an excuse to have one on the island almost every week of the year! Whilst they're mainly held in honour of a saint's day or historical event, fiestas are also put on for the wackiest of reasons. In February, a fiesta is held to ward off sore throats and in September locals turn out in their thousands to celebrate the fiesta of melons. There is even a festival devoted to the islander's love of black pudding and sausages! Choose Mallorca for your holiday and expect to enjoy a culture filled fiesta experience at any time of the year. Suitable for all the family, the festivities often include anything from food and wine exhibitions, to horseshows, colourful processions, and LOTS of dancing! In Pollenca, the five day Moors & Christians fiesta is in full swing as I write. This celebrates the Christian's victory over the Moors and is colourful and noisy with mock battles re-enacting the triumphs of the army. Come to Mallorca at the end of August and try some devil-dancing in Montuiri -one of the oldest festivals going! Call us to time your holiday around a Mallorcan fiesta - we highly recommend it!
Allow us to present the latest addition to our exclusive yacht charter portfolio - the stunning, 35m, M Ocean. According to Jochem Kaan writing in the Super Yacht Times , this beautiful motor yacht from Italian designers Arcadia, '...distinguishes herself from the masses the first time you set eyes on her' and is 'highly conceptual'. We couldn't agree more. M Ocean is elegant yet understated - combining innovative design with environmental efficiency. Her interior offers a soothing palette of high gloss white, light teak and splashs of occasional colour and she has glass walls and ceilings ensuring she is flooded with light. As well as a hot tub on the fore deck, she has hydraulic balconies that can be lowered to sea level for multi height al fresco dining! M Ocean is contemporary yet cozy and is a fabulous, floating, home from home which can sleep up to 12 guests. She is currently in Nice awaiting your arrival...
According to local legend, the mighty Dom Perignon was a bit of a fraud. Whilst many may think that the world's first sparkling wines were developped in the Champagne region much further North in France, its existence was first documented in Languedoc in the early 1500s - a discovery made by monks at St Hilane Abbey. Dom Perignon is said to have visited the abbey and stolen their idea! The original sparkling wine is still available in the region today and is known as Blanquette - it's delicious, we've tried it! The Languedoc region, like Blanquette is a little understated when compared to other Mediterranean hotspots, yet it's fast becoming known as 'The Real South of France' and is not to be missed. Explore mountains, lakes, ancient chateaus, castles and thermal springs. Spend long sunny days driving through vineyards sampling Blanquette de Limoux and another local delicacy called les Zezettes de Sete - a tempting white wine biscuit. The French really do love their wines don't they? If that's not temptation enough, we have some incredible offers available at two stunning villas in Sete. Villas Frankie and Freya in Sete (both sleep 8 in ensuite bedrooms), offer a wonderful juxtaposition to the history and culture of the region - they are modern, architectural masterpieces. Selected weeks remaining at these villas this summer are on offer with a 20% discount - call us for more details. Prices include the use of a private speed boat and there's a full watersports programme available - each villa also has it's own swimming pool.

Summer in the Alps - our top 10 ways to tire out energetic kids! Many of our clients ask us to help put together a holiday that will keep both parents and children alike happy…. This is a challenge that we love and as much as many of our 'seaside' destinations are amazing for a relaxing beach holiday, we think that the Alps in the Summer is a perfect solution for families who are looking for great weather, luxury accommodation and excellent service to ensure a relaxing break - but with enough to do to keep even the most active of children happy. Here are our top ten tips to keep even the most hyperactive of children entertained! Mountain Biking in Les Gets - the downhill World Championships are held here! Your chalet will prepare you a picnic lunch to take on a hike - all resorts have an amazing network of signed hiking trails for all abilities - we especially love taking the Sunnegga Express in Zermatt and walking back down to the village via Winklematten. Tiger Woods started playing Golf at the age of 2! Why not try a golf lesson at one of the beautiful courses throughout the Alps, such as Verbier Golf Club or Crans-sur-Sierre, where the European Masters is held each summer. Experience an exhilarating day out on a 'Via Ferrata' ('Road of Iron') - a mountain route which is equipped with fixed cables, ladders, and bridges - brilliant fun and a great way to get to parts of the mountains that otherwise you wouldn't be able to. A day out watching the Tour de France as it passes through many of the Alpine resorts every summer Chalet terraces are the perfect spot for Yoga and Pilates - private instructors deliver fun-filled classes especially aimed at children and teenagers - you're never too young to learn! Go and jump off a mountain! (Preferably harnessed to an instructor to do a tandem Paraglide - one of the best things we've ever done in the Alps and an experience you'll never forget) Go Canyoning in Les Gets - experience amazing underground canyons and caves. Challenge each other to your own version of the French Open at the free tennis courts in Les Gets, or the tennis courts in Zermatt right in the centre of the village, surrounded by fantastic mountains on all sides. Horse-riding is a great way to get out and experience the mountains - most resorts have riding stables and offer full instruction. After all that activity, we then recommend a relaxing BBQ on the deck of your chalet, watching the sunset with a well-earned glass of wine (while your children sleep soundly!)

Ibiza - never too young to party!

Who says that just because you have kids (of whatever age!), you have to miss out on the Ibiza vibe and the chance to party?! Ibiza is a wonderfully family friendly island - with safe, sandy Blue-Flag beaches with shallow sea and lifeguards, to the locals who adore children, it's the perfect place to take babies, children and even teenagers. However, even when you're travelling with your family the great news is that you can still join in with what makes Ibiza, well, Ibiza! The centre of the party scene in Ibiza, from day-long beach parties and live DJs at cocktail hour to those chilled-out sunrises, revolves around beach clubs, with places like Cafe Mambo and Blue Marlin becoming household names over the last few years. However, beach clubs - yes, even those well known ones, are surprising family friendly, and welcome children (and adults of all ages - not just teenagers and clubbers) with open arms. The surprisingly laid back, friendly and unpretentious atmosphere in many beach clubs provides the perfect setting for a day on the beach. The convenience of shady areas, clean sand and comfortable sunbeds makes life easier for parents - and the situation right on the beach means that parents can relax and enjoy listening to a DJ (and maybe even enjoying a cocktail….) whilst watching children make the perfect sand castle! Most beach clubs offer activities for children, specific children's areas and brilliantly executed children's' menus. Some of our favourites are El Chiringuito in Es Cavallet where children's activities change daily, the very cool Pura Vida in Niu Blau where there is a fabulous children's entertainment programme on Fridays, and the famous Jockey Club located on Salinas beach - one of the best beaches on the island for children - we especially recommend arriving here from 9am for breakfast on the beach whilst listening to a chilled-out Ibiza DJ whilst the children play on the sand… you're never too young to party the Ibiza way!

Since OS Private Travel launched last year, I've been lucky enough to spend a lot of time on the Cote d'Azur, especially around the St Tropez area, and have grown accustomed to the glitz and glamour! So it was a very pleasant change to arrive in Sete on a recent visit to the South of France, and experience first-hand this charming, authentic and very, well… French, town first hand. Located in the Languedoc -Roussillon area, wedged in between Provence and the Cote d'Azur, this lovely town and its beautiful surrounding beaches and countryside offer all of the advantages that the south of France is known for - the beaches, climate and fabulous food and wine, but with many additional benefits that make it a great choice for families. Not only does the area have a choice of airports, served by some low-cost carriers, but the roads are jam-free and the area easy to navigate - you can hire a car at the airport and easily manage your way around for the duration of your holiday without too many complaints from the back seat! The many blue-flag beaches are long, wide and sandy, with shallow water perfect for safe swimming and paddling, and I especially loved the beach just outside Sete (where Villa Frankie and Freya are located) which has just had a brand new American-style boardwalk installed along its many kilometres - perfect for cycling and evening strolls. The beach is also littered with great cafes, restaurants and bars, and I enjoyed several lovely evening meals watching the sunset, feasting on delicious - and very fresh - seafood and sampling some of the delicious local rose! The beaches are within easy reach of Sete town centre and its canals, cafes and restaurants. The fact that Sete is a working port actually adds to its charms - the town has a real 'party' atmosphere in the summer, with lots of events around the town, including music festivals and the famous 'water jousting' - a real spectacle where contestants attempt to knock each other off long platforms extending from boats, and which prompts some seriously fierce local rivalries! One of the things I most loved about this are is the it offers a great location for a beach holiday - you could easily build sandcastles all day, every day here - but if your group requires slightly more variety, local attractions include safari and theme parks - and this is one of the best areas in France for watersports - so something to keep everyone in the family happy - and I can't wait to visit again soon.

Mallorca - Fantastic for Families!

One of the current buzz words in the luxury travel world is 'multi-generational', and over the last few months, we've been asked to help with numerous holidays for large family groups, including the whole family from newborns to Great-Grandparents! This is understandable as a villa holiday really does offer a large group of family or friends the chance to spend some quality time together in a lovely place, with the privacy and independence not found in a hotel, and is perfect for not only a relaxing holiday, but for celebrating an occasion such as a milestone birthday or wedding anniversary in style. This becomes a really luxurious and spoiling experience when the villa comes with staff to look after your every need and make sure that everyone can totally relax without worrying about cooking - or arguing about the washing up! We can organise extra staff and services to take care of all of your needs, from shopping to party-planning, and will really help you to create a special family holiday to remember! However, the real beauty of a villa holiday for large, varied family groups, is that we can find a property to suit every member of the family, and nowhere does this better than Mallorca. Mallorca offers a huge variety of types, styles and sizes of property - many of which have flexible accommodation, such as 'casitas' - small guest houses in the grounds, which are perfect for grandparents seeking a little peace, or a couple with young children who require a little more space or independence. There are many ground-floor rooms in properties, perfect for older members of the party who may be a little less mobile, and villas here really are designed for outdoor living and entertaining - perfect for spending time together as a group - or finding a quiet corner in the garden if you'd like to be alone for a while. Many Mallorca luxury villas offer large swimming pools and gardens - perfect for children who need a little space to work off their holiday energy, and we can organise everything that your children and babies may require to make the holiday as hassle-free and easy as possible - from nappies and baby food (with the brands you use at home), toys and DVDs, pool alarms and babysitters. We can even arrange excellent, highly-qualified full or part- time nannies to really give you that much-needed break. The Mallorquins love children and welcome them into the many family-friendly restaurants and cafes on the island, and with such wonderful sandy beaches and excellent family activities, it really is hard to beat Mallorca - we'd be delighted to help you put together a holiday to remember!

Start as you mean to go on...Ibiza opening weekend plans announced

Ibiza hedonism isn't just about glow sticks and foam parties... as Ibiza regulars have grown up, yet have fallen in love with this beautiful island and still return year after year, the legendary party scene has grown up with them. Partying on the 'White Isle' is an increasingly sophisticated affair, with new fabulous beach clubs, restaurants, bars and club opening every year. So although you may now not feel the need to party until dawn and sleep all day, and you may even have a family in tow, there's no need to miss out on all of the action. In fact, beach clubs, such as Tropicana, next door to the world-famous Blue Marlin on Cala Jondal, one of the best and, arguably, coolest, beaches on the Island, are particularly family friendly, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the Ibiza vibe, even if your beach bag now contains more wet-wipes than vodka! This year's opening weekend sees the action starting on Thursday 24th May with the opening night at the world-famous Pascha and sees the weekend continuing with opening parties at Space, Privilege and the finale of the Ibiza Music Summit, one of the most unique parties in the world, taking place in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Dalt Vila, high above Ibiza town. Some of the most exciting (and 'grown-up') venues to open over the last couple of years, such as Ushaia and - one of our personal favourites, Aura, will also be opening to start a summer of chilled-out, elegant partying and beautiful sunsets. One of the most popular ways to enjoy both the night-life and the rest of the opportunities this family-friendly and beautiful island has to offer, is to ensconse yourself in a beautiful villa and enjoy time with friends and family in luxurious, comfortable and peaceful surroundings, with every wish catered for, and then dip in to some serious socialising whenever the mood takes you. In fact, OS Private Travel can even take care of all of your childcare needs, so if you did happen to feel the need to re-live the late nights/ early mornings of your mis-spent youth, you can rest assured you can recover in peace! For more information on luxury villas in all parts of the island, and to find out how we can take care of every aspect of your Ibiza holiday , just get in touch. We can arrange VIP club access, restaurant and beach club bookings...but we can't do much about the hangover...!

1. Bayview, Cote d'Azur - the most spectacular panoramic view from high, high above Cap Ferrat and Nice...great to watch the comings and goings of the ships and the twinkling lights of the Cote d'Azur at night are just beautiful. 2. Can Spectra, Ibiza - uninterrupted views of sea, sky and the mystic 'Es Vedra' island...perched on the edge of a cliff, experiencing this view is an almost spiritual experience. 3. Kasbah Tamadot, Atlas Mountains, Morocco - taking in high mountain peaks, a green river valley and tiny Berber villages, the peace amidst the Atlas Mountains is almost tangible 4. Chalet Grace, Zermatt - a view that you NEVER get bored off - a mesmerising bird's eye view of the whole of Zermatt town and the iconic Matterhorn. (Our tip - best time to view, at night with a full moon when the Matterhorn 'glows' in the dark, or just before sunrise to see the 'pink tip' of the Matterhorn's summit). 5. Maison MK, Marrakesh - of the hundreds of roof terrace views in Marrakesh, this is our favourite - we especially loved watching the storks who nest in the Koutoubia Mosque minaret circling at dawn. 6. Can Melcion, Mallorca - nestled at the head of the valley and surrounded by the beautiful Tramuntana mountains on 3 sides, this is peaceful, green and utterly lovely. 7. La Terrace, St Tropez - slightly elevated, but so close to the sea you feel you can reach out and touch the super-yachts. Right behind the (in)famous Club 55, you feel part of the in-crowd whilst sat in the peace of your own private garden. 8. Ferme de Moudon, Les Gets - one of the most perfect, unspoilt Alpine views we know - pine forests, mountains and big, blue sky, with not another person in sight. 9. Villa Luna, Corsica - an unrivalled view of the unspoilt, beautiful Corsican coastline and turquoise sea from your terrace. 10. Villa Freya, Sete - Literally right on the beach, the sky seems so big from here - wide horizons, sunrises and sunsets...beautiful.

Children in Spain are made to wait longer for their Christmas presents as they are traditionally brought by The Three Kings (Los Tres Reyes Magos) on 6 th January, and this is celebrated in a day of partying, parades and presents on 5 th January in villages, towns and cities all over Spain. In fact, this festival is by far the largest highlight of the whole Christmas period for all Spanish families, and it's not just the children that get excited - adults of all ages get involved with this festival, and even the smallest villages mark the occasion with a procession ! The Three Kings are each given their own floats and make a procession around towns and villages, giving out sweets and, as if the Spanish sweet tooth hadn't been fed enough over the Christmas period, revellers will enjoy a piece of Rosco de Reyes, a large donut-shaped cake filled with cream! Some of the most spectacular parades can be seen in Palma, Mallorca, Ibiza town and Marbella - three of our favourite luxury Villa destinations in Spain.
