This spectacular country house is the largest on the Jnane estate. Totally private, secluded and peaceful, Jnane House blends into its surroundings in its abundant, beautiful gardens. The house itself combines the traditional ‘courtyard’ layout of a Moroccan Riad and the spaciousness of a country house.

The owner of Jnane is a renowned interior designer – and her stylish, ‘languidly opulent’ decor and architecture is perfectly complemented by the outside spaces so thoughtfully designed by her husband, who is a globally respected botanist – with the focus on native species and sound eco-credentials. The furniture is a thoughtful mixture of Moroccan and Syrian, with gorgeous tapestries, fascinating paintings and prints on every wall and an emphasis on traditional craftsmanship and natural materials.

Comfortable, intimate living and dining rooms are clustered around the first courtyard area and there are six bedrooms on the garden level – four of them around a second courtyard – and an additional four bedrooms on the upper-level, with access to a large roof terrace. All bedrooms are en-suite with bath and shower facilities.

The house really lends itself to outside living, with shaded, comfortable hidden corners everywhere, a fabulous pool, full size tennis court and is very family-friendly, secure and peaceful – yet still within easy reach of the City for shopping, sightseeing and restaurant expeditions.

Although the perfect country house for a family or group holiday, with effortless, attentive service and a focus on fresh, local and international cuisine (a lot of which is produced in the Jnane gardens), we suspect that where Jnane stands out is that this house is in the little black book of every savvy party-planner, as this is what Jnane really excels at. The size and versatility of Jnane makes a perfect venue for parties, celebrations and weddings – small and intimate or lavish and hugely impressive.

In addition, when combined with other properties on the estate, Jnane offers very flexible accommodation of up to 24 bedrooms (and any number in between). We’ve never come across such a versatile, atmospheric property for events and groups.
